The Stoddart Group welcomes the arrival of two new members, visiting predoctoral fellow – Pramita Kundu and visiting doctoral student – Christopher Lee.
Pramita was born and brought up in Chandannagar, a beautiful and small town in Eastern India. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. She subsequently obtained her Master’s degree in Chemistry with specialization in Materials Science from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata. Pramita has joined the Stoddart group at Northwestern University recently as a visiting pre-doctoral fellow. Her research interests focus on the mechanochemical synthesis of mechanically interlocked molecules (MIMs) and the nanomechanical investigation of MIMs. In addition to science and nature, Pramita has a passion for writing, recitation and theatrical acting.
Chris was born and raised in Coffs Harbour, a coastal city in New South Wales, Australia. He received his BSc and BE degrees from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney in 2020 and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Kim Group at UNSW. Chris’ research interests are focused on the development and analysis of artificial molecular pumps. He has a particular passion for chemical synthesis and is excited to be continuing his work in this area as a visiting doctoral student at Northwestern University.
We are all very happy to have you on board and look forward to the wonderful research you will undoubtedly perform!
