Tae-woo grew up in Busan, South Korea and received his bachelor’s degree in Nanoscience from Pusan National University in 2011. Then, he moved to KAIST, South Korea in 2012 to obtain his master’s (2014) and PhD degree (2017) under the guidance of Professor Ali Coskun. His research focused on the design of supramolecular polymers for high-performance silicon anodes in lithium-ion batteries, representing the importance of supramolecular chemistry in the battery field. In August 2018, he joined the research group of Professor Sir Fraser Stoddart as a postdoctoral fellow. His current interests are polyrotaxanes for molecular machines, batteries, and molecular electronics.
