Kazem-Rostami, Masoud
Postdoctoral Fellow
Masoud Kazem-Rostami is an organic chemist skilled in molecular design, synthesis, and analytical characterization of applied materials who has introduced a new family of molecular lambda-shaped light-driven dual switches. Masoud earned a PhD in Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences from Macquarie University in Australia in 2018. He joined the Stoddart Group as a postdoctoral research fellow in November 2019. His research revolves around color chemistry, switchable chiroptical materials and light-actuated mechanisms. In collaboration with his colleagues in the Stoddart Group, Masoud designs a variety of photoswitches and incorporates them into the construction of molecular machines as well as biomimetic and mechanically interlocked systems.
