Qiu, Yunyan
National Universiy of Singapore
Yunyan was born and grew up in a small town in the northeast part of China. He completed his undergraduate training, majoring in medicinal chemistry, at Peking University with Professor Demin Zhou. Then he came to US and earned his PhD in Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University under the guidance of Professor Kevin Noonan and Tomek Kowalewski. During his PhD his research encompassed organometallic chemistry and polymer science with a focus on the rational design of conjugated polymers, as well as developing controlled methodologies to afford well-defined functional materials using metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. Yunyan Qiu has been a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Sir Fraser Stoddart at Northwestern University since December 2016, where he researches molecular machines and related functional materials.
