Seifallah grew up in Bizerte, Tunisia, the Northmost City in Africa where he obtained his BSc and MSc Degrees in Organic Chemistry from the University of Carthage. Then, he moved to France to earn a PhD Degree in Molecular and Macromolecular Chemistry from INSA Rennes under the supervision of Dr Christine Paul-Roth and Professor Bassem Jamoussi. During his PhD, he synthesized organic and organometallic phthalocyanine dendrimers and studied their optical properties. In September 2018, he joined the GNS Group at CEMES Toulouse to work with Dr Claire Kammerer and Professor Gwénaël Rapenne on a MEMO Project as a Postdoctoral Fellow. His research focused on the design and the synthesis of porphyrinic molecular cogwheels, with the aim of assembling them into trains of gears on surface and ultimately achieving controlled intermolecular gearing motions. In March 2021, he began a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Stoddart group at Northwestern University to explore further the fascinating world of molecular machines. Welcome Seifallah!
