Will Dichtel Named 2020 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science

Northwestern Professor in Chemistry, and former UCLA (2005-2008) Stoddart Group Postdoctoral Fellow, Will Dichtel was named a 2020 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the largest general science society in the world. Selected by their peers serving on the Council of AAAS, Fellows are recognized for important contributions to STEM disciplines, including research, leadership, teaching and mentoring, fostering collaborations, and advancing science across the globe.

Will is being recognized for distinguished contributions to the fields of organic and polymer chemistry, particularly his work on synthesis and application of two-dimensional polymers and porous polymer networks. The Dichtel Group focuses on creating and testing new materials applicable to organic and polymer energy. His research has implications for water purification, energy storage, explosives detection, and polymer design.
