Fraser Stoddart, along with Cafer T Yavuz from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, were the scientific organizers of the 2019 Beilstein Nanotechnology Symposium on New Directions for Nanoporous Materials. Fraser also presented an invited lecture titled Taking Cylodextrin Metal-Organic Frameworks from Research Laboratory to the Market Place. The symposium brings Metal-Organic Framework experts together to hear and discuss cutting-edge research, thought-provoking predictions and stimulating discussions on nanoporous materials, facilitated by 21 invited speakers covering the whole spectrum of the nanoporous materials family. This year’s event, which was held at the Hotel Jagdschloss Niederwald in Rüdesheim, Germany, also featured the Beilstein Young Investigator Award Winners, Hana Bunzen and Dana Medina.
