Fraser Stoddart was recently named a 2019 Fellow of the American Chemical Society. The American Chemical Society (ACS) Fellows Program was created by the ACS Board of Directors in December 2008 to recognize members of ACS for outstanding achievements in and contributions to science, the profession, and the Society. The 2019 ACS Fellows were announced in the July 15, 2019 issue of C&EN and will be honored at the fall ACS National Meeting in San Diego.
Fraser reflects fondly on this momentous achievement and the company he shares:
“I have been a member of the American Chemical Society since 1972: that’s 48 years if my arithmetic is correct. It’s a real honor to be selected as an ACS Fellow of the 2019 Class along with Hassan Bazzi, Miguel Garcia-Garibay, Madeleine Jacobs and Jonathan Sessler amongst others.”
