Jonathan Barnes is Off to MIT! - After graduating with his PhD in 40 months, graduate student Jonathan Barnes (2010–2014) has moved to Boston to become a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Professor Jeremiah Johnson in the Department of Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) beginning 12 February 2014. While in the Stoddart group, Jonathan's research focused on co–creating the ExBox series of molecular receptors, utilizing the radical molecular recognition of viologens to develop integrated materials, and exploring the emergent electrochemical and magnetic properties that result from nano–confinement of intimately stacked viologens. In the Johnson group, Jonathan will be making bivalent brush polymers and looking for their application in drug delivery. Good luck Jonathan!
