27 Aug 2012 Ferroelectricity in Nature - The discovery of a new class of organic ferroelectric materials, which exhibit switchable electrical polarization, is the outcome of a collaborative project with the Stupp group. These new materials, which are described in the August 23, 2012 issue of the journal Nature, address a long–standing challenge in the field, namely room temperature operation. The fact that they open up the possibility of non–volatile memory augurs well for energy saving. |
