Message:

One might say that I am quite a bit of a nomad. After graduating from high school in the UK, I pursued my Bachelors of Science at Mercer University in Macon, GA. I dabbled in many research topics from strained organic molecule synthesis to inorganic particle synthesis.

In 2002, I began graduate studies at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN working on organic liquid crystalline materials for use in optical display applications. It was at Vanderbilt that I developed a passion for teaching, which has grown stronger ever since.

I transferred to UCLA in 2004 in pursuit of more active and exciting science and it was here that I encountered the incredible research activities of the Stoddart Group. I made the move with Fraser to Northwestern University in November 2007 and have enjoyed the transition greatly (aside from the little thing called weather).

Outside of the lab, I am a huge fan of German cars, BMW in particular. I love to listen to symphonies especially when John Williams is playing! I am fascinated by the Egyptian culture and the rich history that is associated with it so hopefully the future holds a trip to Egypt in the future, with my wonderful and supportive wife Nancy.

Nancy and I recently tied the knot on Oct 12th 2008 here at Northwestern University!
