Message:

I was born and raised in Taipei City, Taiwan, and completed my B.S. and M.S. study at National Chiao-Tung University (NCTU), which is one of the most prestigious research universities in Taiwan. Although I never got any degree in chemistry, I started to get interested in organic chemistry in my junior year, and eventually decided to explore the realm of nanoscience/nanotechnology so that I can combine my expertise in engineering and my interest in chemistry. Inspired by the molecular electronics research works done by the Stoddart/Heath collaboration, I moved to UCLA to pursue my Ph.D. study. Now I'm a joint Ph.D. student between Prof. Kang Wang (Dept. of Electrical Engineering, UCLA) and Prof. J. Fraser Stoddart, and I'm working as a predoctoral visiting scholar in the Stoddart Group at Northwestern University. Besides research, another passion in my life is music. I own a huge collection of CDs, mostly classic rock, blues, and country music. Usually every month I'd spend several nights out in downtown Chicago to see my favorite artists playing live. I'm also a sports fan in general. My favorite teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers and the UCLA Bruins (men's basketball). I guess I might not have chance to see Northwestern playing against UCLA in the NCAA tournament, but I'll definitely cheer for the Dodgers when they come to Wrigley Field.
