Message:

I was born in Narasaraopet, India where I spent all my life here until Bachelors. In 2006, I left my home city for Hyderabad (South India) after I got selected (via a written entrance exam followed by a personal interview) among the top 22 candidates in the country to pursue Masters in Chemistry in the University of Hyderabad (one of the top rated central universities in India). My studies here have certainly inspired me to become a scientist and I eventually decided to go abroad in order to carry out my doctoral work.

In 2008, I was then selected (after a preliminary screening followed by a personal interview and group discussion) among the top 7 candidates for the International NRW Graduate School of chemistry (GSC-MS) PhD programme and carried out my PhD work on “Stimuli-Responsive Supramolecular Interactions of Vesicles composed of Amphiphilic Cyclodextrins” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bart Jan Ravoo at the University of Muenster (Germany).

After I received my PhD degree in 2011, I joined the group of Prof. Rein V. Ulijn at the University of Strathclyde, UK (currently located at the City University of New York, USA) as a postdoctoral research associate (funded by the US Air Force), where I worked on “Biocatalytic Self-Assembly of Aromatic Peptide Amphiphiles into One-Dimensional Functional Optoelectronic Nanostructures”. In October 2014, I joined Sir Fraser Stoddart Mechanostereochemistry group as a postdoctoral fellow.

Besides chemistry and research, I love spending time with my family. I am a huge fan of sports, particularly cricket (one of the most popular games in India), tennis and badminton. I love reading, watching movies, listening to music and I believe I have a good sense of humor (some people have a different opinion on it though).
