Education:

Ilja received his PhD degree from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Houston where he developed efficient catalytic carbon-hydrogen bond functionalization reactions and used them for the synthesis of novel functionalized materials for applications in energy storage and environmental protection. Ilja holds a bachelors degree in chemistry from the Latvian University.
