Message:

I was born on 14th April 1979 in Ankara, Capital of Turkey. I obtained my BSc degree from the Chemistry Department of Ankara University in 2003. I completed my MSc studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Engin U. Akkaya in Middle East Technical University, Chemistry Department, in 2006. During my studies, I mainly worked on the functional supramolecular systems which could function as chemosensors for anions, cations and neutral molecules; light harvesting systems (efficient energy transfer cassettes); synthesis of photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy and dye sensitized solar cell (DSSCs) applications. After completing my MSc degree, I moved to the Netherlands where I obtained my PhD at the University of Twente in the Laboratory of Molecular Nanofabrication (MnF) group under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jurriaan Huskens. The goal of my project was to prepare hybrid, multilayered materials with complex architecture. In October 2011, I joined the Stoddart Research Group as a postdoctoral researcher.
