Message:

I was born and raised in Egypt, a place which is well known for its ancient civilizations. In 2001, I received my BS in Chemistry from Zagazig University, Egypt and finished my MS degree in 2005 from the same University, where I worked on solid phase synthesis of difficult peptide sequences. In the spring of 2007, I moved to the other side of the world and started my graduate studies at Tulane University (green wave!!) under the supervision of Dr. Jayawickramarajah. My graduate research at Tulane involves the synthesis and photophysical studies on supramolecular assemblies based on porphyrins, fullerenes, and cyclodextrins. In December 2010, I successfully defended my PhD thesis which was entitled " Supramolecular assemblies based on porphyrins, fullerenes, and cyclodextrins: synthesis, characterization, and photophysical properties". In January 2011, I joined the group of Sir Fraser Stoddart as a post-doctoral fellow. When I am not in the lab, I like reading, watching TV and love sports (especially football, or as they say in US "soccer").
