Message:

I was born and raised in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, where I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies. I have always had a keen interest in materials science and I chose to do a BSc majoring in Chemistry and a BE majoring in Materials Engineering. My PhD research investigated process intensification and green chemistry synthetic pathways for nanomaterial production and the interactions between nanomaterials and water-soluble calixarenes. During my PhD I was fortunate enough to be awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to undertake part of my PhD program in the US at Clarkson University. I joined Sir Fraser Stoddart's group at Northwestern University in Fall 2010 and I will be investigating various mechanically-interlocked molecules, nanomaterials functionalized with molecular switches and metal-organic frameworks. In my spare time I enjoy listening to and playing music, jogging, and hacking my way around a golf course.
