Message:

I was born in Chongqing (Sichaun Province) in China. After studying at Sichuan University, majoring in Polymer Science, I pursued my masters degree in the field of biodegradable polymers, supervised by Prof. Xianmo Deng. Then I had a four-year industrial position (R&D) at the largest polyester fibre manufacturer in China. I moved to the UK in 1999 to pursue my PhD degree, supervised by Prof. Howard M. Colquhoun, initially at Salford University in Manchester, and then moving with him to the University of Reading (near London) in 2000. I really benefited from his help and encouragement over the past ten years. I enjoyed my life in Reading, being very happy in the family (my wife and I now have a son and daughter) and the science. Motivated by the amazing science and leadership of Professor Stoddart in molecular nanoscience, I was very pleased to be able to join his group to build my knowledge in this tremendously exciting area. In my limited free time, I work to keep myself fit and I spend time with my family. I especially enjoy playing with my two lovely children.
