Message:

I was born and grew up in Pakistan where I attended Women’s College at Karachi. I completed my BS (Hons) in Chemistry and MS in Organic Chemistry at University of Karachi . I began my research career at Husein Ebrahim Jamal Research Institute of Chemistry (HEJRIC) working under the supervision of Professor Khalid M. Khan. In 2006, I was awarded an overseas scholarship from Higher Education Commission Pakistan which enabled me to study abroad in the United States. After working as an international student at University of California Irvine in the Nowick Lab. I transferred to Northwestern University in 2008. Where I am currently completing my PhD degree in chemistry, as a joint student with Professor Stoddart and Chen. My current area of research involves physical properties of photo driven molecular machines.

Outside of the lab, I find plenty of fun activities with my handsome husband. Evanston is the ideal city for us because we find our favorite food (Pakistani, Chinese, and Indian etc.), scenes (especially by the lake). Also being a Henna artist I like to get together with friends and draw patterns once in a while.
